The History of British Cheese

Welbeck Farm Shop

The History of British Cheese

In this informal tasting, our cheesemonger Katy will talk through a cheeseboard that showcases the story of cheesemaking in the British Isles.

Cheese has been made in Britain for nearly 2000 years and its history intertwines with the development of Britain as we know it. From crumbly cheeses like Cheshire to the worldwide dominance of Cheddar, we will explore their history and the cheesemakers behind them. Learn about our nation of cheesemakers with plenty of tastings to illustrate our narrative. Come ready for a history lesson with a difference!
