The Welbeck Farm Shop is delighted to have been named Runner Up in the prestigious Observer Food Monthly Awards 2013 in the 'Best Independent Retailer' category.
Celebrating their 10th Anniversary, the reader voted Observer Food Monthly Awards cover the length and breadth of the country, celebrating the very best in British food and drink. Britain’s esteemed food writer, Nigel Slater said “ this year’s awards have been the most popular ever, with readers choosing winners from across the country.” The Welbeck Farm Shop was one of only four independent retailers in the Midlands to be chosen as runners up in the Best Independent Retailer category.
The Welbeck Farm Shop opened its door in October 2006. Their hard working team have been the key to their success and fortunately they have managed to grow in size yet retain the family charm of a small traditional business. The Farm Shop team is made up of fifteen members of staff, all very passionate about the quality of the food they produce and sell and the level of customer service they provide. The butchery team is made up of four butchers, one assistant and one trainee, two members of staff proudly run the deli and cheese counters, the multi skilled shop floor are a team of five and back of house there are a further two members of staff providing administrative support to the business. Though a separate business, Boutique Aromatique are an immensely valued member of the Welbeck Farm Shop team. Their beautiful counter stacked with delicious chocolates and patisserie is a fabulous compliment to the rest of the shop.
