Testament of Youth Film on General Release
20 January 2015
Filmed on the Welbeck Estate as well as other locations in Yorkshire, Oxford and London, Testament of Youth, a First World War drama starring Kit Harrington and Alicia Vikander, is now on general release in cinemas across the UK.
Produced by Heyday Films and directed by James Kent, the film depicts Juliette Towhidi’s adapted screenplay of Vera Brittain's iconic and powerful First World War memoir, a searing story of love and war, first published in 1933.
Heyday Films, a British film production company, led by David Heyman, took up residency on the Welbeck Estate during the production of the film in 2014. Heyday Films has produced a steady stream of notable movies; from the tremendously popular Harry Potter film series to recent successes like Gravity and Paddington. Filming took place at various locations across the Welbeck Estate, most notably at Cuckney House, which was used as the film set for Vera Brittain’s parental home.
