Spotlight - Gardener Karl Taylor

Welbeck is home to a vibrant community, from the estate company staff to our resident artisan makers and our wonderful tenants.

Spotlight shines a light on our community: go behind the scenes, get to know us a bit better and discover the lives and work of some of Welbeck’s employees and tenants.

Karl Taylor has worked with the Grounds maintenance on the Welbeck estate for just under 10 years. Read on to find out more about Karl and his role...

What is is your role?

Working within the Grounds maintenance department, my job involves maintaining the gardens on the Welbeck estate, including the Abbey grounds, The Harley Gallery and properties in and around Mansfield. What do you like to do on your days off?

I like to go Game beating when the season is on. Weekly visits to the gym, chilling and meeting up with friends for a pint or two!

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

It would have to be a Sunday roast.

Any favourite line from a movie?

Cheeky

Quiet (on first meeting!)

When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried?

Watching the Samsung ostrich advert.

People would be surprised if they knew:

I can knit.
