Summer Exhibitions at The Harley Gallery
26 July 2018
Visit The Harley Gallery this summer for a double-bill of landscape art. Laura Ellen Bacon has created a 'human-scale’ sculpture in exhibition 'LAID'.
Laura’s largest installation since 2014 incorporates Silver Birch grown at Welbeck, and cut as part of the estate’s routine woodland management with Willow from Somerset. This monumental new work twines its way around the ground floor gallery.
During your visit head upstairs to Gallery 2 for 'Bright Woods, Dark Peaks' by Sheffield based artist and designer Jill Ray. Jill uses both traditional and digital methods to produce her detailed landscapes. She works with oil on canvas and creates digital prints using a computer. The opposing processes offer Jill different ways of working; slow vs fast, direct vs indirect markmaking, subtle textures vs perfected geometry.
Both exhibitions open on 28 July and run until 7 October 2018.
