07 November 2019
Great news! Welbeck Farm Shop has been chosen as a finalist for the acclaimed Guild of Fine Food’s Shop of the Year 2020 title.
The accreditation scheme, which recognises and promotes excellence in independent retail, has announced its finalists for 2020 and Welbeck Farm Shop is among those in the running to win the Farm Shop category.
It will now undergo two further rounds of judging, including an announced visit from one of the judges and a mystery shop. Welbeck Farm Shop will be judged on the overall shopping experience as well as staff training opportunities and environmental initiatives.
The panel of judges includes Edward Berry of The Flying Fork, Stuart Gates, former managing director at Fortnum & Mason and senior buyer at Harrods, and food writer, Patrick McGuigan. The Shop of the Year 2020 award will be announced at the finale in March.
Oliver Stubbins, General Manager of Welbeck Farm Shop, said: “It’s great news to hear that we’ve been chosen as finalists, particularly as it follows our recent success at Made magazine’s North Notts Food Awards where we won Farm Shop of the Year and The Harley Café won Café of the Year.”
“We pride ourselves on providing the best in seasonal and fresh food and we are really pleased to have been recognised for what we’re doing. To reach the final of this prestigious national competition is the result of the fantastic food and service our team strives to provide.”
