Award win for Welbeck Farm Shop

Award win for Welbeck Farm Shop

Welbeck Farm Shop has scooped this year's Food Shop of the Year title in the Great Food Club Awards.

Almost 6,000 votes were cast online when readers and members of the Great Food Club were invited this summer to vote for the one food or drink independent business that had brought them the most joy over the past 12 months.

And this week it was announced that following a lengthy judging process, Welbeck Farm Shop had won the prestigious title.

Judges said: "This sumptuously stocked shop would be a treat even if it didn’t showcase produce from the food and drink hub that is the Welbeck Estate. The fact it does – notably Stichelton cheese, beers from Welbeck Abbey Brewery, raw milk from the Welbeck Dairy, and bread from Welbeck Bakehouse – makes it extra special."

Oliver Stubbins, General Manager of Welbeck Farm Shop, said: “It meant a lot to us to know that we were nominated for the award by our customers. It’s obviously been a challenging year for everyone and the team has worked really hard to maintain our normal levels of service for our customers. We were overwhelmed that our customers put us forward for this award.”

The news is a big boost to the team, who are making preparations as the country goes into its second lockdown. Customers can be assured that the farm shop will remain open throughout with its Covid secure measures in place. The shop will continue with its contactless collection service.
