Brewery to raise funds for charity project

Welbeck Abbey Brewery has partnered with Age UK Nottinghamshire to create ‘Men In Sheds’; a beer that will raise funds and awareness for the charity’s ground breaking project for older men.

In the UK, there are more than 2.5 million older people who have no one to turn to for help and support in a crisis. Wanting to help the ageing generation to flourish and feel free from isolation, Age UK implemented the ‘Men In Sheds’ project.

The charity provides the ‘shed’ (workshop), tools and equipment, and volunteers. The members take control of the day-to-day running of the shed and set the activities which include woodworking, skills sharing and socialising.

A group of men from the local Worksop Shed worked with Head Brewer at Welbeck Abbey Brewery, James Gladman, to hand-craft the special beer on the Welbeck estate. ‘Men In Sheds’ is a 4.8% English IPA using UK Cascade and Jester hops and boasts citrus and floral flavours.

A donation of 10p from the sale of every pint of ‘Men In Sheds’ will go directly to the flagship Worksop ‘Shed’.
