Learn how to forage with The School of Artisan Food
09 July 2021
The School of Artisan Food at Welbeck is giving would-be foragers the chance to explore the beautiful grounds of the estate with a professional forager.
A one-day Foraging and Wild Food Cookery
course is set to take place this August, providing the skills, knowledge and confidence to source and cook confidently with wild seasonal ingredients.
There's a wide variety of food you can search for in the wild. Before giving it a go it’s important to first go out with people that know where to look and what to look out for. The School of Artisan Food
offers the chance to do just that.
During the course, professional forager, James Wood, shares his top tips about the vast array of wild edible ingredients that can be found in the outdoors. He teaches how to identify species and how to use them within a variety of recipes and dishes.
There's also the chance to harvest wild and fresh ingredients from around the estate before heading back to the school, where there will be cooking demonstrations and tasters of foraged ingredients.
