Celebrating Sourdough September
02 September 2021
September sees the annual celebration of sourdough.
To coincide with Sourdough September, The School of Artisan Food will be hosting a special Online Sourdough Starter Masterclass on 14th September with internationally renowned baker and author Emmanuel Hadjiandreou.
The month-long national celebration of sourdough was launched back in 2013 by the Real Bread Campaign to encourage more people to buy from independent bakeries or make their own bread. This virtual course is the perfect way to learn how to make sourdough bread from your own kitchen.
During the online masterclass Emmanuel will share his tips and secrets and give an insight into the science of long fermentation. He'll also demonstrate how to care for sourdough starters. This will be followed by a question and answer session.
All those taking part will be given information and recipes after the course. For more information and to book >> Online Sourdough Starter Masterclass.
For those looking to extend their skills, there will be a two-day Introduction to Sourdough course led by Emmanuel at The School starting on 19th September.
This hands-on course offers the chance to learn all about sourdough baking from fermentation and mixing to proving and baking from one of the very best in this field. To find out more and to book your place read on.
- Look out for other baking courses coming up at The School of Artisan Food this month including Introduction to Patisserie and Artisan Bread Baking and Patisserie.
