Welbeck gets set for Bun Run

There's still time to sign up for the first ever charity 'Bun Run' at Welbeck!

Runners and walkers are invited to join the charity event, which takes place this Saturday (11th September) to raise funds for The School of Artisan Food's charitable work.

There’s a small entry fee for those taking part and this will go to the bursary programme at the school to help support upcoming food producers.

The Welbeck estate will be giving access to areas not normally open to the public and giving participants the chance to run or walk, one of two routes, through its scenic parkland.

The 15,000-acre estate surrounds the historic Welbeck Abbey and the 10km course takes in sweeping views of this magnificent building. The route circuits the park, crosses the great lake out into open countryside, skims the deer park, and returns via the Abbey. The 5km route will skirt the lakes, farmland and include ancient woodland.

As a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to artisan food production, the Welbeck-based School of Artisan Food helps people learn about artisan food production. As part of this, it works closely with local voluntary groups and enterprises to support the local community, including unemployed people and refugees.
