Welbeck Farm Shop celebrates 18 years

When Welbeck Farm Shop opened its doors to its first customers in 2006, it aimed to provide great, locally produced food and top-quality service. 18 years on, community and sustainability remain at the heart of everything they do.

The team continually works hard to source the best ingredients, and each product range undergoes a rigorous taste-testing process. They carry out ingredient checks and taste tests on all the ranges before deciding whether they make the grade to go on the shop's shelves.

This continuing ethos has seen the Farm Shop go from strength to strength throughout the 18 years. 2024 has already been a fantastic year for the team, winning UK Large Farm Shop of the Year and Midlands Best Retailer at the Farm Shop & Deli Awards and Farm Shop Butchery at the Farm Retail Association Awards. 

We caught up with General Manager Oliver Stubbins: 

It is wonderful to see the shop continuing to grow as we approach our 18th birthday; 2024 has already been an excellent year for us, winning both the UK Large Farm Shop of the Year and The Farm Retail Association's Farm Butcher of the Year. As well as being passionate about great food, we understand a business is nothing without great people, and we have three colleagues, Sarah, Mark and Rob, who were with us before the doors opened 18 years ago and are still with us today.

We have seen a significant increase in customers this year. With the importance of eating good quality, traditionally grown and produced food in the media more than ever, we work hard to ensure that we only sell produce that we really love and are proud of. We are lucky to have some amazing producers here on the estate, including lamb, game, ales, bakery, raw milk, and Stichelton cheese in our Made at Welbeck range.
