Welbeck Abbey Brewery's NEW Brew - Duchess

New for 2023, Duchess is an 8.4% Belgian-style Golden Beer limited edition originally planned to celebrate a decade of the Brewery in 2021 (mid-pandemic).

Duchess is a luxurious beer with sweet fig and raisin aromas which dominate initially, followed by a robust, sherry-like richness. This beer is a homage to all the celebrated Women of Welbeck and those that are yet to be discovered.

James Gladman, Head Brewer and Tom Roe, Packaging Manager from Welbeck Abbey Brewery, commented,

“We are extremely proud of Duchess and the finest ingredients we used in the brew. The Heritage Chevallier malt imparts beautiful caramel biscuit tones and is supported by subtle herbal flavours from Phoenix hops. Fermentation with a classic Abbey yeast gives this beer fruity-ester flavour.”

Whilst strictly speaking, Duchess is a 12-year celebratory beer, it has hopefully been worth the wait, and who knows if there will be a Duke joining the Duchess soon!
