Hearty congratulations to the team at the Welbeck Farm Shop for their FARMA award for Best On Farm Butchery 2013. The winners were announced at the awards ceremony held on the 12th of February 2013 at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate. The awards were presented by celebrity chef and FARMA patron, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.

For centuries, Welbeck has been a place of constant evolution. In 2005, a new chapter in Welbeck’s history was to begin when the MOD, who had used Welbeck Abbey along with other Estate buildings as a Sixth Form College since 1954, made the decision to leave. With the MOD’s departure came David Hibbert and the formation of the Welbeck Abbey Maintenance team.

Reg Betts and his team of gamekeepers diligently work across 16,000 acres of the expansive Welbeck Estate, overseeing The Welbeck Lakes Fishery, providing general security to the estate, and rearing game birds and deer throughout the estate’s beautiful woodland.

Congratulations to Welbeck Abbey Brewery for winning a Silver award for their Henrietta Golden Ale in the Society of Independent Brewers, Midlands Beer Competition 2012. Henrietta is a 3.6% Golden Bitter and is available in casks through the Welbeck Abbey Brewery and in bottles at the Welbeck Farm Shop.

The Welbeck Farm Shop have been shortlisted as National Finalists in the 2013 FARMA Awards in the 'Best on Farm Butchery' and 'Own and Local' award categories. FARMA is a co-operative of farmers, farm shops, and farmers' markets organisers, working to promote members' interests to consumers, politicians and the media. Get a glimpse of Welbeck behind the scenes with our new ‘Inside Welbeck’ report featuring the Welbeck Estate Grounds Department. The gardens at Welbeck, originally the grounds of a Premonstratensian Abbey were developed by Francis Richardson and Humphry Repton in the late 18th century with further developments by Alfred Parsons and Walter Partridge in the late 19th and early 20th century.

Congratulations to Dayle Green, Education Officer at The Harley Gallery and Joan Brown of Brown's Bed & Breakfast in Holbeck for their Nottinghamshire Stars Awards. Dayle Green was Runner Up in the 'UnSung Hero' category and Joan Brown won 'Best Accommodation Provider' alongside an award for 'Outstanding Contribution to the Industry'.

Congratulations to the Welbeck Farm Shop on winning the Center Parcs 'Supplier of The Year' award for 2012. The Farm Shop supply the Sherwood Forest Center Parcs with hampers containing Stichelton Cheese, Welbeck Bakehouse bread and Boutique Aromatique Chocolates.
