The Welbeck Abbey Brewery are looking to recruit a Delivery Driver to work a minimum of 30 hours each week, usually 8am-4pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. There will be opportunity to work additional hours during peak times and to cover staff holidays. Please note that this is not a brewing role.
Pay will be at the current national living wage rate of £12.21 per hour.
The applicant must be able to occasionally work additional hours to cover holidays and peak times, particularly during November and December.
This postholder will be responsible for their own vehicle and equipment and will be expected to keep it in a clean and orderly manner. A large amount of lone working and heavy manual handling is involved in this role.
Successful applicants should:
• Hold a full UK driving licence
• Be used to driving vans or large vehicles
• Thrive in a dynamic and ever-changing environment
• Work well on their own initiative
• Be able to work Mondays if required (notice will be provided)
Please note: A case of bottles weighs 10kg, which the driver will need to lift repeatedly throughout the day. A cask weighs 60kg, and each van run can be up to 24 casks a day. The casks will need to be lifted, loaded onto a van, unloaded, and dropped into a cellar on a rope down a ramp. Manual handling training is provided, and employees are expected to wear suitable protective equipment as provided by the company.
• Responsibility for a company vehicle and delivering equipment
• Picking stock and updating the stock system
• Delivering bottled and cask beer to customers
• Uplift of empty casks
• Collecting and processing cash on delivery
• Cask washing and manual work around the brewery and yard
The following are desirable but not essential:
• A forklift truck licence
• Computer skills
• Experience in multi-drop delivery driving
• An interest in beer!
