Working within the Building Department Team, the successful applicant will be required to help with the maintaining and refurbishing of over 300 residential properties and significant buildings within a historic village maintaining safe & tidy sites during the refurbishment & maintenance processes.

Responsibility for maintaining a clean and tidy site which will include:

• loading & unloading materials and storing them correctly, ready for use
• cleaning of the site welfare facilities
• leaving the site in a clean and tidy condition at the end of each working day
• loading of waste materials into the skip provided and making the foremen aware when a replacement is require

Carrying out general work-related tasks such as:

• site set up prior to works commencing
• digging trenches for services
• chopping out pointing
• cleaning of gutters & drains
• stripping of wallpaper
• chopping off of plaster and prepping for the re-plastering,
• assisting with fitting the damp-proof-membrane system and mixing of plaster
• site shutdown once works have been completed

Assisting any member of the refurbishment team with duties such as:

• facilitating the installation of services
• installation of kitchens & bathrooms
• plastering
• preparing surfaces for decoration
• Any other duties which may be required of you to assist with the smooth running of the Refurbishment Team and the Building Department.

The successful applicant will be expected to attend any training which is considered appropriate to tasks you are required to carryout such as:

• Manual Handling
• Asbestos
• Awareness Training
• Mobile Tower Training
• Abrasive Wheel Training
