We are currently looking for a Multi Skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our Property Maintenance team at our sister estate in Pegswood, Northumberland.

Job type: Full-time. 40hrs. Monday – Friday.

The Welbeck Estates Company have owned property in Northumberland since the 1300s and remains in the stewardship of the descendants of the 7th Duke of Portland.

Welbeck’s Northumberland Estate is one of four rural estates within the wider Welbeck Estates portfolio, with the principal estate centred around Welbeck Abbey in Nottinghamshire. Welbeck’s Northumberland Estate Office is based at Bothal Castle, with properties located primarily in and around Bothal, Pegswood, and Ashington.

Located in Pegswood, Northumberland.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Multi Skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our small Property Maintenance Department, working as part of an established and supportive maintenance team.

Reporting to the Building Maintenance Manager, you will carry out a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance works across our residential and commercial properties.

As a Multi Skilled Building Maintenance Worker, you will report to the Building Maintenance Manager, where you will work as a team to undertake work such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Residential and commercial property refurbishments
  • Property clear-outs
  • Painting and decorating
  • Flooring installation and repairs
  • Kitchen and bathroom installations
  • Joinery repairs
  • Assisting external contractors (joiners, plumbers, roofers, electricians) as required
  • Re-pointing and minor masonry repairs
  • Clearing drainage systems and gutters
  • External painting and woodwork maintenance
  • Minor roof repairs, you will be required to work at height
  • Fencing
  • Site clearances

Administrative support to the Building Maintenance Manager and Estate Manager:

  • Tracking and updating Excel spreadsheets for refurbishment projects and estate maintenance programmes
  • General administrative tasks related to maintenance works

  • Must have good communication skills and interact professionally and respectfully with property occupiers.
  • Take pride in delivering excellent customer service.
  • Act as an ambassador for The Welbeck Estates Company, promoting the positive work we do with our communities.
  • Ideally, have experience in building and property maintenance, but it is not essential.
  • We welcome applicants with a practical mindset, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn – training and development opportunities are available.
  • A full, clean driving licence is essential.
