Named Cafe of the Year 23/24 in the Great Food Club Awards and shortlisted for the Farm Café of the Year 2025 with the Farm Retail Association, The Harley Cafe is part of a multi-award-winning Farm Shop based on the Welbeck estate, on the outskirts of Worksop, Nottinghamshire. The shop is famed for its locally sourced, full carcass butchery counter, Neal's Yard cheeses, estate walled garden produce and network of fantastic local suppliers, which creates a dream larder for our Chefs.

This is a demanding role in our very busy Café.

This is a rare opportunity for a Senior Chef to work with the highest-quality ingredients. Our shift patterns are daytime, typically between 7:30am and 5:30pm, seven days a week, with very occasional evening events. Our menu is small and varied, pushing the boundaries between café and restaurant dishes, and it is served on a short-order basis.

This role would suit a Sous Chef looking to make the next step in a career, or an experienced Senior Chef or Head Chef looking for a challenging role in a food-led business, but with the benefit of daytime shift patterns.

• Working with the Executive Chef to manage the small team to deliver targets, including sales, margin, compliance, and maintaining excellent standards.
• Significant input to menu development and gross profit achievement, with creative utilisation of seasonal produce.
• Consistently preparing and cooking food to the highest standards.
• Assisting with the maintenance of excellent operational standards at all times.
• complying with company procedures in relation to cleaning, food safety and allergens.

Experience as a Sous Chef or above – minimum 1 year. 
Previous experience with short-order cooking in a fast-paced environment.

Ongoing training will be provided for the successful candidate.
